tragic comedy

my mother came home to mamie, our half maine coon cat, lying still in front of the wii.  the jokes from my coworkers have followed that statement with "wow, the wii really did her in!", "did the wii fit give her a heartattack?", and  "now i'm definitely not getting a wii!  that's dangerous..."  it's very sad.  i'll miss her snuggles this christmas.  she had such a great personality for a cat - many a lolcat caption could be made on her expressions.  my facebook page has a video i took of her high on catnip two xmases ago.  this is unfortunate as missy passed away last year around this time.  now bo is left, but i have a feeling he'll be around quite a while - too bad he sheds like crazy (bad for my allergies).  rest in peace, mamie!  thanks for being such a wonderful pet to my mom - we'll miss you!

so matt called me as he was driving to talk about the passing of mamie and the details, how mom was taking it, etc.  then i hear him go, "oh, skunk!  oops, i nailed it.  that made my truck jump a little."  gave us a good laugh, and he joked that it was like an animal holocaust b/c obama was gonna win (not what you think - he voted for obama and wants obama to win.  he just has to watch himself in the good ol red state of ok).  on the plus side, he was telling me that when he tried to go early vote on saturday near the capitol, it was a 4 hr wait, and the majority of the line was black, so hey, we'll be happy if those numbers reflect in a closer race.  mccain will still get oklahoma, but if like i had mentioned in an earlier political blog, the black population does get out there, it will be historic for oklahoma in the fact that the republicans will not win by a landslide as usual.  many of his republican friends have voted for obama too.  will be good to see a bit more blue there.

family, pwned, sorrow, rock the vote
