I have put some thought into female circumcision. In my religion, circumcising a boy creates a bond between him and G-d, so I was wondering why not do the same thing for girls? Girls should share a bond with G-d as well. Is it hypocritical or sexist to be against female circumcision but for male circumcision?

For those who believe circumcision is evil but do believe in piercing their infant's ears, how does that work? Do you think it makes you hypocritical? If not, explain.

Say there is a religion that insists that to prove adherence, members must cut the tip of the nose off of their newborn babies' faces. It is just enough to affect the ability to smell a little bit, but the baby could still use the nose normally for the most part. I am knee deep in preparing for childbirth and have noticed in the fine print my health care provider does not cover cirumcision. This, of course, doesn't really matter because we're raising the kids in Judaism and I'm pretty sure mohels aren't covered anywhere.
