Helllllllllloooooooooooo LIVEJOURNAL!
I am excited to be posting here again, to an audience of no one. Just figured I might do it anyway, since I refuse to do anything on Facebook but back and forth music vids with my brother and Twitter just rubs me the wrong way...
...quite in contrast to this lovely place! Which as of this moment is even deader than dead and as I just mentioned to Basil in Gchat now probably finally works as a bonafied diary! That never used to be the point of this place and I do miss the community and the shared anecdotes, postures and all-around vibrant showing off of everyone around here. But, right now, might as well take it for what it is and carve out a little intimate space for myself, as old ljay friends Jeremy Chocobark, Billy Wells and now Ex-Berliner Naomi Smallvictories have so charmingly been doing all this time.
Anyhoo, figured I might restart this with some images from my recent trip to Las Vegas! Me & my family had us a little road trip from Phoenix via Grand Canyon and on to Sin City, Nevada. Here's what some of that looked like:
My fear of heights played some pretty nasty tricks on me here. Could hardly look at the thing for more than a minute. Still get sweaty hands when I see it.
Super weird figurines in Sedona, where I fell in love with adobe clay houses.
Birch trees on the way to Grand Canyon, snow still covering the ground though it was like 60-something Fahrenheit outside. Saw a Puma from the car window.
Stopped at gas station on Route 66, saw a dude with a gun stuck in his belt get out of the car next to us.
Arizona yellow grass.
Lake Mead, I think. Couldn't keep my eyes off the windows for the entire trip. Loved all the endless fields everywhere. Realized I don't actually like mountains. Really, mountains are just always in the way.
First glimpse of Vegas, lighting up the desert. Gave me even more goosebumps than the Grand Canyon. I am shallow and proud of it.
Only picture I took outside in Vegas, none of them could capture the insanity properly anyway.
Dimi smoking victory cigar at Bellagio. He won 900 bucks at Poker, I won 400. It was glorious. Nobody at Bobby's Room, sadly. Later saw fountains dancing to Morricone.
And for good measure here's a pic of my parents new backyard in New Jersey! They just moved in recently and we helped them renovate the inside. I hope this is one of the few parts of New Jersey not populated by Hollywood serial killers (Voorhees, Haddonfield and whatnot)...
