was totally gonna do "i'm bringing comments back!" in outdated reference to jt.
also i just realized that timbaland and justin timberlake have missed a golden opportunity to call one of their collaborations lake/land or land and lake or something of that nature.
i love the old car and gun caption. desert noir is a subgenre we should work to bring back.
i still haven't seen detour. also a lot of modern noirs take place in the desert: red rock west, breaking bad, uhhh, some others i am forgetting that i remembered when i first typed the comment. it's a great idea, though.
well, basil is trying to get everyone to move to portland. i heard even reuben might be coming. so that's always a pretty cool option.
my gf is american so my plan is to someday marry her for the sweet, sweet citizenship and then both of us move somewhere where it is sunny always (that's what she would like). preferably somewhere close to and/or in vegas!
i was worried the overexposure of that place on tv/film and whatnot would make going there feel kinda stale, but it turned out to be too much to handle!
also hey karin, good to see ya again! how have you been?
Holy cow, all this news and these photos and all! Not to mention, one of a few totally quality awesome lj entries right in a row on my friends page!
I have never been to the southwestern part of the US. I sure would like to see the Grand Canyon some day, and to visit Las Vegas. Looks like you had a pretty rad experience.
woo, hey kelly! yeah, i was wondering what it would feel like to post here again and it's pretty great!
trip was totally awesome. i was expecting to love Vegas (though not quite as much as I did) & Grand Canyon, but didn't think Arizona would impress me as much. it was really beautiful!
also me & my mom stopped at another gas station on the drive back and it was like 4 in the morning and this lady was at the register and when we left i had a smoke outside and peeked through the window and could see her dancing by herself to Patsy Cline's "Leavin' On Your Mind" inside. it was a pretty cool moment and made me love the place even more!
