Got back from the cold, cold north on Saturday evening, and have been pretty much been chillin' since then. My City Folk town of Jidoor needed a lot of its flowers watered that night, but it paid off on Sunday with some purple and pink roses.

To say that this news made my day would be an enormous understatement.

Saw the weirdest thing in the mall yesterday. At the Carlton Cards shop, buried in with all the other Care Bears stuff, were framed Care Bears production cels. Not reproduction cels, mind you, but actual production cels, each with a certificate of authenticity from Nelvana slapped on the back. I just discovered that I have a high-quality copy of the greatest Japanese animated feature film ever made on my hard drive. I seem to recall downloading it at one point, but upon playing it tonight, I was stunned by its crispiness. Dubs vs. dubs!

Now I'm even more unsure on whether or not to get the Disney release of Tonari No Totoro (Nausicaa had a sub-par dub [in particular, for the title character herself], and Laputa had godawful timing on its subtitles, but other than that, the subs and/or dubs on Disney's Ghibli DVDs have been superb).
