Stuff happened.
Today was actually fairly lovely out if a bit cool, but that's how I like it, so I was good. Work was dead quiet so I spent most of it chatting with co-workers about houses and other stuff. One co-worker wants to buy within the next year, but he's intending to go way north because he wants lakefront. Where he's talking about buying is about 25 miles north of where Morgan and I live, and I already have an annoying commute. But he really wants to be on the water, so...everyone has priorities.
Another co-worker hooked me up with a new purse because his wife was selling a lot of hers, so I bought a new-looking (very, very gently used) Coach purse for $50. Score. I still want to save up for the Michael Kors bag I'm lusting after, but hell if I know if I'll ever be able to afford it. By the time I can, it'll likely be gone.
Also of the good with a little of the wince: The satellite receiver Morgan helped me put in the car was working great--when it was working. But I kept getting "check antenna connection" errors randomly, never in the same area so I knew it wasn't a dead spot. I took it to Car Toys last night and they didn't have time to look at it, but I made an appointment to come back in today. The good is that it now works perfectly and I no longer have wires all over my dashboard and hogging up my outlets due to how they set it up. The bad is that it cost a fair bit because they had to replace the dock and re-run all the wiring and so on. The wires now disappear behind the receiver and I don't quite know how they did everything but there are no real visible wires, both my cigarette lighter and my secondary outlet are open even though the receiver has power, and it does plug into the aux jack somehow even though there's no wire showing. I'm baffled, but pleased, and it works great.
I drove to and from Renton and it never cut out for more than a second or two.
That was also the good (with some of the panicky): Strahd and Chevy were having a Mem Day barbecue and get-together, so after I finished at Car Toys I headed down. I arrived just in time to play a game of Bang!, which I won despite being the first person dead. (It's an interesting game where you can win an hour after you finish playing.)
I stayed long enough to enjoy round one of the food but I was feeling too hyper and anxious to really be comfortable after that, so I fled. I hate my brain.
Now I'm home listening to music and hoping I can do some writing. Wish me luck?
