She momentarily possesses Brock as Crane tries to tend to his burns Day 20 - Day Shift
Brock ends up talking with Kadaj, Scholar Ling and Carnage. Ling demonstrates acute perceptiveness and strikes a deal with Carnage and Brock. [Carnage, Kadaj, Scholar Ling] LUNCH - Brock discusses Scholar Ling's proposal with Kasady: Kasady argues that it's not much of a deal at all [Carnage] Post "therapy" with the new doctor (Crane). Luffy and Brock are suitably pissed about what they see as Crane backstabbing them. River and Lust play devil's advocate and offer the argument that Crane wasn't faking not knowing them. Luffy and Brock then plot to jump Crane, but there aren't any specifics. Brock is given his first warning that his symbiote is "pregnant". [Luffy, River, Lust] Day 20 - Night Shift
In which Brock stumbles upon Kasady and they agree - sort've - to go trash the doctor's offices.[Carnage] Day 21 - Day Shift
BREAKFAST: Waking up with some of the patient files still on hand, Brock smuggles Kasady's out in his journal into the cafeteria and tries to do some homework on the other Host. LIBRARY: Now suffering the first of the "body pangs" from his symbiote's slowly growing need to reproduce, Brock curls up in a corner and curses what he hopes is indigestion. The symbiote takes it upon itself to ruin Brock on eggs forever. SUN ROOM: Still suffering the same pangs, Brock at least takes comfort in shooting Kasady down on the bulletin board. The symbiote shoots Brock down. Bulletin Board Thread:
Kasady accidentally makes the mistake of saying what his favorite book is. Brock jumps on him for liking Harry Potter. Day 21 - Night Shift
No Brock posts - Brock sleeps in. Or tries to, at any rate.
Day 22 - Day Shift
CHAPEL: Having spent a good portion of the night having nightmares about the that he is merely being paranoid. Brock spends the time in the chapel to pray - though he suspects it won't help - and converses briefly with Renji, Claire, Elena, Gray Fox, and Nowe. [Renji, Claire, Elena, Gray Fox, Nowe] CHAPEL HEAD DOCTOR THREAD: The Head Doctor reveals himself finally. Brock doesn't notice anything wrong, but his symbiote certainly does, recognizing finally a predator higher on the food chain then they are. It vows to remove Landel by any mean necessary, seeing him as a threat to their territory and looking at River as a potential new Host for their coming offspring. They are unware of Kasady and his own symbiote looking on and plotting. [Carnage] After reading the "gentleman's club" that Tamaki was talking about on the bulletin board (Kasady mistakes it for strippers, Brock defends strippers), Brock ends up meeting Inara and comes off with the impression that she is smokin' hot. [Inara] WAITING ROOM 2: (Visitor: J. Jonah Jameson(?)). Wondering what the fuck is going on, Brock sits in the waiting room...and comes to the nasty realization that his "visitor" is the spitting image of his old boss, Jameson. "Jameson", however, only alludes to how Brock supposedly got fired and his relationship to "Peterson". Day 22 - Night Shift
Still pissed off at the visitor's shift, Brock strikes out to explore. SUN ROOM: He winds up here, only to find it's under attack by a SC Patient (Hisoka). The symbiote forces him to just book it through rather than risk getting shot. They end up running through the kitchen and breaking into the Courtyard. COURTYARD: Brock wandered into the courtyard, followed by Caim, and they run into another SC Patient (Luffy). They briefly argue and then Caim attacks Luffy - who, in Brock's eyes, reveals himself to be the equivalent of a Human Gumby. They fight, Brock entangles Luffy in webbing only to get kicked into the pond - and accidentally dragging Luffy into the water after him. He rescues Luffy, not angry enough to let him drown, and picks up his hat right before Day Shift Day 23 - Day Shift
Waking up bandaged, but still in a good bit of pain, he finds that he's still in possession of Luffy's straw hat. He smuggles it into the cafeteria and ends up confronting Luffy, who confesses that he didn't know what happened to make him fight like that. Grudgingly accepting the fact that Luffy is innocent, but miserable, Brock gives him his hat, instantly cheering him up. They discuss what to do with Crane. [LUFFY] MALE SHOWERS: Brock heads to the showers. He runs into Stefan Richter and a human Darkwing Duck. LUNCH: Brock runs into Stefan Richter again and decides to interview him. They talk about superhumans and Brock asks if he has a Spider-man in his own universe. GAME ROOM: Starving once again thanks to his exercise from last night, Brock wanders into the Game Room and encounters Larxene - he's baffled trying to figure out how her hair things stick up. DINNER: He eats dinner and meets his roommate, an elf called Valyn. They discuss potentially helping each other out. Day 23 - Night Shift
Leaving his room: Brock realizes it's an MU night and thinks it's better them than him. Hearing the radio, Brock jumps to the conclusion that there is something in the Chapel and makes his way there Reaching the stairs, Brock runs into Stefan Richter yet again, as well as Raven and "Mute Guy" (Caim). They head to the Chapel together, although Brock privately has some misgivings They reach the Chapel and are attacked by a Leftover. They take on the monster and eventually defeat it; Brock himself is drenched in blood and Leftover drool, but decides he'll risk trying to feed on it when everyone leaves. However, Caim spies on him and spots him eating the corpse's brains and confronts him on it. They fight, Brock takes a shovel to the head, and the symbiote is pissed. Eventually they get Caim where they want him and, in a move of pure douchebaggery, Brock eats Caim's left eye while he watches. NIGHT SHIFT ENDS Day 24 - Dayshift
BREAKFAST: Unable to help himself, Brock gloats to Kasady about eating Caim's eye, only to run into Caim himself. Caim gets understandably pissed and takes swings at both Kasady and Brock. They play victim for the nurse who arrives to sedate Caim. Making it to the hall of offices, they let themselves into Wilson's, with a show that brute force still doesn't hold a candle to finesse, and raid the man's files and Kasady trashes the place. [Carnage] DINNER: Brock eats dinner with his roomie Valyn Day 24 - Nightshift
Brock wanders the nightshift with some new faces. Day 25 - Dayshift
BREAKFAST: Encountering Larxene again, Brock is left with the impression that she is one weird, and brutally frank mutant. RECREATIONAL FIELD: Brock meets Allen, who somehow notes he is different and calls him an "Akuma". Kasady joins the party and they talk with Allen for a bit, trying to convince him that they're normal. Day 25 - Nightshift
No posts - Brock slept in
Day 26 - Dayshift
GROUP THERAPY: Stuck in Group Therapy after skipping breakfast with Jack and Sai, Brock doesn't think it could be any worse LUNCH: Instead, it only gets better, as Brock zeroes in on Peter Parker's presence and talks/torments him a little with a hello-lick SUN ROOM: His conversation with Parker doesn't go unnoticed: Brock is approached by Wolverine and given a veiled threat Day 26 - Nightshift
Pissed off at hearing that Kasady got to Parker first, they set off to hunt down the other symbiote/host. And they track Kasady upstairs and start to duke it out, getting in a few hits before accidentally getting knocked off the balcony downstairs into the Sun Room, which currently has an SC-er Stunned by the drop, he is further injured by the SCer Gin before being rescued by Hitsugaya, who flash-steps the two of them just outside the Sun Room Struggling to recover, Brock is horrified to find that he eventually attracts a little party, with Parker of all people finding him wounded, and then Luffy, Usopp and Sai, who give him some Tylenol. Edit: Wow, I fail at keeping up to date. More recent threads of interest; not all threads though.
Day 29 - Music Room: Meets up with Peter Parker. Has an almost civil conversation with him and reveals just how he got the symbiote.
Day 29 - Courtyard: A certain Petrelli turns up in the Courtyard. Brock meets him, thinks he's an okay kid, and bets with himself he won't last the night.
Day 30 - Breakfast: Brock is considerably surprised to find that Peter Petrelli did last the night.
Day 30 - Male Showers": Brock shares naked shower time with Parker, thinks he's pretty damn hot, and proceeds to creep him out.
Day 30 - Arts and Crafts Room: He meets Harley, thinks she's both hot and weird, and for some unexplained reason, she thinks he's a stuntie. He boggles at her.
Night 30 : Crashes the little group of heroes consisting of Statesman, Peter Parker, and Wolverine. Tags along uninvited and gets a front row seat to Wolverine jumping into a fight in the Sun Room against a Night Shifter. Has to admit the guy has balls.
Day 31 - Breakfast: The morning after, Brock is still boggling/grudgingly impressed with Wolverine's balls. He has an uncomfortable breakfast with Allen, who is able to somehow tell he's not human, and treats him less than one. Allen threatens to take him out.
Day 31 - Sun Room: Brock speaks again with Wolverine, Wolverine shows he knows about Brock's symbiote. They eventually come to a temporary "truce" over Peter Parker, although Brock has no intentions of keeping it.
Day 31 - Lunch: Still annoyed about Wolverine, he jumps Parker next chance he gets and tries to press their favorite Spider for information on the Canadian. He's able to confirm from Parker that Wolverine's a mutant and probably has powers (so far unknown).
Day 31 - Dinner: Brock eats dinner, grumbles about having to be civil, and sleeps in for the night to better heal.
Day 32 - Breakfast: Feeling well-rested with a normal night's sleep, Brock heads out to breakfast and encounters Elle, who ends up somehow sitting on his lap and flirting with him. She tells him about "Haitian pills" that can dampen powers. Brock is both intrigued by this and by her, but as of right now, doesn't exactly trust her. But she's attractive enough that he still thinks she'd made a good one-night stand before she probably gets eaten up by Night Shift.
Day 32 - Sun Room: In a good mood after the touchy-feely meeting with Elle, Brock stalks Peter Parker. Brock spots Harry Osborn and steers Peter away, planning to try to find out where he is in the night shift so he can take care of him. They also talk about experimentation and Peter asks aloud one of the most pressing questions in Brock's mind - if he's worried if the symbiote will be targeted for experimentation.
Bulletin - Not soon afterward, Brock spots a posting on the board asking about him, and snaps a bitchy reply back.
Day 32 - Dinner: A little bit paranoid about the food here and wondering if they have Haitian pills inside, Brock forgoes dinner. He also has a glimpse from Parker's genetic memory about pie and Harry and looks forward to tonight, where they plan to feed and then seek Harry out.
Night 32 - M21-M30 Hallway: They set out with their goal in mind once night shift starts.
Night 32 - Entry Room: A leftover attacks them in the Entry Room. Eventually Brock comes out the victor and starts to feed...only to get walked in on by Sylar. Not wanting a repeat of Caim, Brock attacks Sylar who tries to sway him to his side in order to save his life; Brock isn't entirely convinced but they were interrupted by Elle. She shoots a bolt of electricity at Brock, stunning both his symbiote and himself and allowing Sylar to get away. Sylar, Elle and Brock talk once Elle recognizes who Brock is in the dark.
Day 33 - Recreational Field. Brock meets up with Sylar and gives him to Nightshift 33 to prove he's more useful to keep alive. Sylar offers up real "proof" of his commitment.
Day 33 - Lunch. Brock sits down to eat/pester Peter, but Harry Osborn joins in. They're introduced and Harry, rightfully pissed after the events of SM3, tries to attack Brock in the cafeteria.
Night 33 - Brock heads out of his room.
Moving over into the next hall, he's a little surprised to see Sylar was as good as his word, having killed Kimbley in the meantime. Brock lets Sylar take a look at the dead man's brains, is annoyed he doesn't respect the brains as much as he should, and gets a good meal in. End of the night.
Day 34 - Breakfast: Brock has breakfast with Elle. Elle warns him against Sylar, mentions an "unkillable" girl named Claire, and tells him about the possibility of escape. She also randomly gives him a kiss.
BULLETIN - Jonathan Crane unwisely tries to contact a stranger called "Eddie". Brock plays it friendly for now, but is intending to tell Luffy Crane's back so they can kick his ass.
Day 34 - Lunch: Brock finds Luffy.
[HAVE TO UPDATE HERE FOR MISSING DAYS]
Day 36 - Nightshift - Entry Room: SPECIAL COUNSELING Brock is taken after dinner for Special Counseling. Under SC's influence, Brock can turn into Venom and is given the task of guarding the entry room: he believes he's doing it because the Head Doctor is holding Peter Parker captive and promised to hand over "their" Spider if they did his dirty work for one night...only there's a twist: no lethal force. Venom decides there needs to be some creative interpretation there. Those who run into SC!Venom: Brainiac 5, Elle, Melissa, Namine and Falis, Harry Osborn and Wolverine. Injuries dealt: Namine (bitten), Wolverine (arm crushed to adamantium bone, eyeball crushed, intestines ripped out), Harry Osborn (stabbed twice, arm broken). Injuries sustained, although the Venom symbiote was able to recover quickly from everything but the shock: electric shock (Elle), sliced near a pretty uncomfortable area and would've been missing some family jewels if he was human (Falis), stabbed in the stomach and bitten in hand (Wolverine), stabbed in the eye (Harry).
People he has met over the course of his "stay" at Landels. (If I forget anyone, give me a shout?)
Peter Parker - enemy/interest

Cletus Kasady/Carnage - enemy
Caim - enemy (also a source of entertainment)

Series the character is from (game, anime, etc): Marvel - Spider-man
Character age and gender: Age - 31. Male.
Character’s “Real Name”: Eddie Brock
How long have you roleplayed your character?: Haven't yet, but I've kinda-sorta written some fanfic involving him, so that might count toward experience with the character.
Where have you roleplayed your character (specific boards, LJ communirties, general AIM, etc)?: I haven't actually RPed him yet, mostly just written some bits on Fanfiction.net in a Spider-man/Venom slash fic.
Have you played the game/watched the movie or anime/read the book or comic, etc. that your character hails from? I've read and seen a bit, but not everything, sadly. I'm familiar with his origins in comicverse (, although I do prefer his origins in the 90's cartoon with the Shuttle Crash rather than the retarded Secret Wars bit or his Ultimate Spider-man origins.
Anything else you’d like to tell us that would help us get to know you or your character?:
Eddie Brock essentially is a stronger version of Spider-man - due to his Symbiote's bonding with Spider-man previously, he has roughly the same abilities. He can climb up walls and ceilings, web-sling, a kind of superhuman agility/reflex and stronger than Spider-man in terms of brute strength (11 tons allegedly in optimal conditions). The symbiote can absorb bullets supposedly, but being as Eddie hasn't been shot at yet (and stuck around to get hit), he hasn't been able to test this little theory out. Because of the Symbiote's previous bond with Spider-man, Venom won't trigger his spider-sense.
In addition, the symbiote allows limited shape-shifting abilities as Venom (mainly in the head area), and accomodates Eddie Brock in terms of clothing. It produces its own webbing rather than relying on mechanical webshooters. The symbiote is extremely sensitive to sonic and thermal attacks, to the point where it can be forced off its host.
Without the Symbiote, Eddie Brock is fairly average. He was pretty atheletic pre-Symbiote, and worked for the Daily Bugle as a reporter, but other than that, there was nothing extraordinary about him. Due to the Symbiote's bonding with him, he tends to sometimes speak of himself as "we", "Venom" (third person) or "I".
In order to stay healthy and relative sane, Venom requires a certain chemical to feed on (possibly Phenethylamine) to stay sane and healthy. This chemical is only found in two sources: chocolate and human brain tissue. It's up in the air which he prefers.

Eddie Brock wasn't quite sure what to do with his newfound powers. After all, it had only been a day or so after that fateful night at the church: when he prayed for forgiveness and salvation, he had instead received the Other. The growing bond he had now told him that this Other was hardly a sign of God - perhaps something as old, as timeless, but hardly a gift from some benevolent Old Guy Upstairs in the Attic. All Eddie knew was this was a second chance for him, even if it did seem like sometimes he was only a passenger in his own body.
Correction: their body.
Because now there were two and really, he should be getting used to the voices in his head, seeing as the one right now was very real and currently very annoyed at its recent life so far. It was also the one in control, although it humored him most of the time. Let Eddie go through the mundane motions of human life - the symbiote would only bother if something actually pressing came up worthy of its attention. For now it only hovered in the background, giving Eddie time to adjust to the new powers and the shared memories that came flooding in. Some were more pleasant than others. One in particular circled around and around, like a train on a track that lead nowhere but back to its own tail.
Peter Parker was Spider-man. Spider-fucking-man.
That pretty much blew Eddie's mind right there. It was hard to picture that scrawny new guy playing reporter at the Bugle as the same guy flying around New York playing hero.
Looking in the mirror, Eddie touched his cheek experimentally. It didn't feel any different and he looked the same: slate-gray eyes stared back, a frown creasing his face. His reflection looked damn exhausted, what with those black circles under his eyes, but he felt pretty much the same. He couldn't quite control the Venom transformation yet - it just seemed to happen - but it wouldn't be long. Seeing as he didn't have a job any more at the Bugle (thanks to Parker), Eddie suddenly had free time on his hands. A lot of free time.
The only thing he knew for certain was the Symbiote and he shared the same hatred for a certain Spider. It just happened to coincide that Eddie happened to hate Parker, so that worked out as well, coincidentally. And while the Symbiote hadn't known about the concept of revenge before it arrived on Earth, it knew now and it liked very much this novel human trait. One of the few things on this miserable planet that it approved of.
Eddie felt that already-familiar numbness descending on his body as the healing symbiote suddenly woke up, but he still couldn't help a convulsive shudder as it took control with its usual tact. Feeling like a bystander, he watched as his body in the mirror twitched and then slumped back, like a puppet with its strings cut, only to slump forward as the black ooze of the Symbiote reformed around him in inky tendrils. Drooling fangs sprouted around his head and engulfed it, a long snakelike tongue lashing out as Venom suddenly formed, a white black widow on his chest the last thing to appear. It blossomed outward in a flourish.
"Much better," purred Venom, touching a claw to the black widow symbol. "We like this appearance; very fierce. Very appropriate indeed."
Venom turned this way and that, examining himself in the mirror of Eddie's tiny bathroom. Venom was as complete as he was ever going to be, a man-shaped creature that was at least several times Spider-man’s size, complete with bulging muscles, enormous claws and a gaping maw filled with rows and rows of teeth that leered back at them in the reflection. This was the first time they had managed to a full transformation for anything over a couple of seconds and so far the form was holding together nicely. This host was cooperating much better than the previous one and was in fact quite obedient, almost disappointingly so. It was almost too easy. But then again, trying to fight off the Spider had been in another ballpark altogether than any old human.
Wonderful. This time it was Eddie's thoughts mingling in with the symbiote's, blurring together so it was hard to tell where Eddie ended and Venom began. Now we're picking up slang.
A bit of a horrifying thought to the Symbiote, but it was better than blinking out of existence into oblivion. Better than nothing. Their continued survival was more important than suffering the indignity of picking up human language.
Besides, with such a seamless bonding to its new host, this was really a small price to pay.
It was getting very comfortable in his (their) body. How would humans say it?
“Made for each other,” Venom hissed in reply and grinned, a terrible leer full of dagger-long fangs. “We’re a perfect match, Eddie Brock.”
Sample LJ post
I can't feel the Other very well today. When I do sense It, It feels like is fair away. Sleeping, almost. Not sure how I got here. Bet Parker somehow got me thrown in prison...funny, I'd remember a big fun fist-fight with our favorite Spider, but I don't. The Other might know once it gets up - it's hungry, I know that much at least.
So.
