Day 30: Arts and Crafts Room (Fourth Shift)

"For the last time, rookie, that ain't my name," she said, more than a bit miffed. Wasn't it always the way? You start to have a little fun, and the nurses and docs decide to come in and ruin everything. It wasn't too long after her roommate had been taken a nurse came to claim Harley. At least, that was the plan. This must have been a new nurse or something, since she obviously brought the wrong patient file with her. She kept calling her 'Amy Dumas' or something like that.

Harley followed alongside the nurse, hands folded behind her head in boredom, down the patient room hall. The place sure looked different when the lights were on.

"Come now, Ms. Dumas. There's no need to be like that. You've been behaving so well since you arrived. Don't you want to relax with the other patients?" the nurse responded with a polite smile, professionally ignoring the 'rookie' remark. "The Sun Room here is very popular. There's also the Music Room, the Patient Library, the Arts and Crafts room, the Game room..."

Whoa, whoa! This place had all that?! Arkham always made them do stuff, like work in the garden. The best they had was the TV room. Suddenly, this place didn't seem all that bad. She perked up as the nurse listed off the different rooms, cutting her off almost immediately when she heard, "Arts and Crafts?! Like with paints and stuff? Real paints?!"

"That's right. I'll take you there right now, if that's where you'd like to go." The nurse held back a laugh behind that eternal smile. She quickened her pace and led Harley toward their new destination. Once they arrived, the nurse placed down some papers onto the table along with some watercolor and finger paints. "We'll come and get you when it's time for dinner."

"Yeah, yeah, yeah..." Harley responded quickly, already distracted by the assortment in front of her. Ohhhh, if only Mr. J was there, too. He'd plotz at all the goodies here!
