Day 30: Intercom, Evening
The intercom's jingle sounded and Nurse Lydia spoke once more, her tone calm and controlled as usual.
"That concludes the activities for today. To make up for the socializing that was missed during breakfast, we'll be having dinner in the cafeteria tonight, which will consist of smoked shredded pork with barbecue sauce, along with corn on the cob, mashed potatoes and gravy, and cole slaw. Regular drinks and vegeterian meal alternatives are available.
"Those who participated in the riot will be seated with one orderly on each side, and any instance of misconduct will be punished with the perpetrator being sent straight back to his or her room.

The Head Nurse trailed off, as if absentminded or distracted. When she continued, it was if she hadn't hesitated in her speech at all, though her tone seemed slightly different, perhaps a little less flat.
