Prison Break is simultaneously the most repellent and addictive series I’ve ever seen. Racism, rampant homophobia, every other -ism you could think of, except maybe cannibalism (and I’m only on season 1) ridiculous storytelling that a toddler couldn’t suspend their disbelief for…and yet, it’s also got fantastic actors like Peter Stomare and Stacy Keach, crazy good dialogue and a few moments of Cool Shit that almost make up for everything that is, well, gross and/or completely outlandish. And leading man Wentworth Miller, despite having a previous acting resume that consisted almost wholly of a role about a jock who turns into a sewer monster (hence my and Addie’s affectionate nickname of Fishboy), is pretty easy on the eyes. (But seriously…if I wanted sixteen subplots about prison love, I’d rent OZ.)(And I could really, really do without the Fox network’s take that all gay men are A) creepy pedophiles B) creepy fat guys or C) some combination of the two.)(Oh, and that unless you’re a college-educated white man, you must play a subservient role to the Smart White Dude, because god forbid a black or Hispanic convict intimate he has a brain or an agenda other than what The Man lays out.)(And could Dominic Purcell’s character be any more TSTL?)

Okay, enough parentheses for one night.
