putting the “hell” in “a hell of a town”

It rained in New York today. It rained buckets, barrels, and biblical amounts. And I called someone a jackass. It was a guy on a bike who crossed against the light and into the pack of people waiting at the other curb, yelling “EXCUSE ME, EXCUSE ME” and excused himself right into my side with his f*cking handlebar. Upon which, I shouted, “Well, it’s not like I really have anywhere to go what with the CROWD. JACKASS.”

It was great.

Then my mother and I did what anyone with an hour to kill in the rain would do: went to Sephora and got tarted up. I walked out with about $120 bucks of cruelty-free botanical-base makeup, from a company new to me. I will say, though: Tarte’s foundation is the ONLY, and I mean ONLY match I’ve EVER found for my skin tone (which is known on most color palettes as Dead Whitey.) Good stuff.

I made my way from Times Square to the offices of my fabulous agent Rachel, we talked a lot of business over dinner, and now there’s wine. Three hour bus trip back to the parental casa tomorrow, so the metrics will return. Now, I’m tired and need more wine. Night.
