I wrote this a few years ago when I was taking Seroquel and lithium and was a total zombie because of it. Thankfully, I don't feel this way anymore, but I'll never forget how it felt. Who here has been on lithium, especially for bipolar II?

I'm probably starting it on Monday, as long as a nephrologist okays it. (I have mild kidney damage from urinary reflux when I was younger). How hard is it on your kidneys, exactly? What dose will they likely start me on? What are the side effects like? And, most importantly, did it work?

I was just wondering, for reference purposes, how one feels when they are experiencing Lithium toxicity? How do you know when it's happening?

My mother warns me about it but it sounds like an old wives tale coming from her.

I start taking Adderall tomorrow. I'm already on Lithium, Prozac, and Abilify, but my concentration these days is nil. I can't sit still very long, like to read or watch a movie. Does anyone else have discomfort which comes and goes, and can you tie it to anything? I have been on the stuff 20 yrs and 6 months ago lab results were normal; I guess I should get them again.    So Abilify started to give me blurred vision and other side effects at 20mg, so me and my doc decided to switch. Price is a huge concern for me- I'm uninsured- so we decided on Lithium. I'm tapering down to 10mg of the Abilify and starting on 300mg of the Lithium starting tomorrow. I was wondering what your experiences of Lithium were ( Read more... )
