I am amused to note that the Cubs starting battery tonight is Abbott and Castillo.

As is my habit (all things being equal), I went down to Wrigley Field for the last home game of the Cubs season. Much to my surprise, I was in a position where I might have the chance to see the Cardinals clinch at least a tie for the second wild card slot, which I had not expected two weeks ago.

I caught my next-to-last Cubs game for the year today. It was a gorgeous day and the Cubs managed to make a game of it before losing to the Giants 6-5.

I went to the Cubs game with Marnie tonight. We had a lovely conversation *and* the Cubs broke their 13 game home losing streak.

What's not to like? :)

I went to the finale of the Cubs/White Sox series with a friend of mine who is a White Sox fan. The game did not go well at all for the Cubs (which was perhaps not so much of a surprise, although giving up five runs in the top of the first is almost never a good sign).

But the conversation was good. :)

I trust that the Cubs will win a game again eventually.

It is, however, making it difficult to move my excess tickets...

Went with Sam to my second Cubs game of the season tonight. A disturbing trend from earlier seasons has resurfaced. When I go to a Cubs game, the only team they can beat is the Cardinals.

This is admittedly a small sample size for this season...

We arrived at our softball practice field this morning to discover that it was filled with men playing cricket. We have no idea if they actually booked our field out from under us with the Park District, but since the opposite field was unoccupied, we figured we'd go there. There is a seemingly endless list of things that need to be done around the house. I am posting this while waiting for the first load of laundry to finish up in the washer so that I can put the second load in.

So the Cubs are facing the Marlins in the first round of the playoffs at Wrigley Field. With the pandemic and all, there will be no fans present in the stadium.
