I totally forgot we fell backward overnight. It's not a problem, in fact, it's great. I'm refreshed and it's only approaching 8 am. I don't think I can fall back to sleep - I had a modestly terrifying dream that woke me up.

Tonight the temperatures just aren't falling. The fog is coming but hasn't yet reached this area. It is going to be 101 tomorrow (forecast) and it is currently 88 degrees, even up at the KPTV tower (1,800' above sea level). So I was only able to cool the apartment to 72. It is going to be 102 (a range of 98 to 104) today. It is already 65 outside. I know sleeping tonight is going to be a tough one. We will likely smash our record tonight and hit 100 tomorrow. Low again of 65 overnight. HOT.

Hello Fourth of July! The fireworks from Vancouver are supposed to show on KGW but they seem to be having severe audio difficulties. Perhaps they should've not attempted a newscast on CW 32 at the same time. I still can't hear their anchors. Oh, and Macy*s in NYC had a lot better music. Why does the city smell bad? Help. In Utah we only smelled funny when the winds were "just so" and blew in that pesky salty/decay smell from the Great Salt Lake.

This is sort of a rotting cabbage odor. AJ says it comes from North Portland. Is it the polluted Willamette?

Time continues to escape at a rapid clip. Tonight I did get to Powell's to hear an author read from his book though. I wish I could BUY IT NOW but of course have to wait for the library holds to work out. The book is awesome though. Also, the Powell's on Hawthorne is awesome... except... Still commuting to/from outer Clackamas, Oregon (between Estacada and Oregon City, OR). No time to write it seems. Been spending some time with AlexJon, which has been a positive. I am so exhausted and tired of going to work so early (and long). If I had the bus as a realistic option, I wouldn't mind. Unfortunately, it's not.

The last two days I have been replacing 90 CRT (cathode ray tube) monitors at Mercy Corps. Because of this, I am exhausted and will update about Phoenix (and anything else) sometime tomorrow.
