on totems, I don't really know, I suspect it is different for each person. I think if you feel a strong affinity with an animal, that is a sign that it may be a totem of yours. (when I say 'totem' I may not mean the same thing some cultures do, I just don't have another word) I would LOVE to learn more of how others discover theirs because I'm sorta in the beginning stages of learning mine, still ( ... )

I love this. I love you for this. We share the same ideas. Except mine includes polytheism. :)

awww ♥ ♥ ♥

mine does too, sorta. I have different deities but I see them as different faces or facets of the One love ♥ like... people are the leaves, deities are the branches, and God/dess is the whole tree.

So you're like a soft polytheist, then. :)

Wow, I imagine this one needed huge amounts of mental energy to actually put into words! Substantiating mercurial ideas like these can be quite enough to turn one's brain into mush. (I studied religious theory in college and I'm still surprised to this day that I escaped with any semblance of sanity, lol ( ... )

yeahhh, it totally did. I had several conversations and days worth of writing before it was done.

I see what you mean about the difficulty connecting. I used to think something was wrong with me until I actually met some people that I had a connection with and it was like "OH, I just hadn't found the right people!"

I'm glad this helped! ;-)

The description of how you see the colours of the different aspects of people is fascinating. Do you physically *see* the colours with your eyes or do you feel it intuitively?

it's all intuitive for me. I would like to be able to see auras, but I don't, not in a visual or minds-eye sense. I feel colors as if they are a scent that people give off -- smell is a much closer sense than sight. heh. smelling colors ;-)
