12. Split Image, Robert B. Parker. A good solid Jesse Stone novel. Police procedural, plus psychoanalysis, in quick-reading hard-boiled style. A bittersweet read for fans of the Jesse Stone series -- unless Parker's estate authorizes ghost writers, this will be the last one we ever get to read. But what a satisfying ending it is!

Finally finished Spook: Science Tackles the Afterlife by Mary Roach. This is one of those books that I really, really like but don't find engrossing.
