Went to Maine, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick October 4 to 14th, and it was beautiful. Saw wild beasts of the maritimes: harbor porpoises, seals, sea birds, porcupines, a turkey, a black bear, and whales.     This memorial is atop a big hill, which you climb via a curved path.  There were few tourists because of the lateness in the year and it  was freezing and blowy.  However, with the sunshine, the view was lovely.

The old pier across from Sam & Omies was washed away and then replaced by a new concrete one with, among other amenities, big clean bathrooms with green water in the toilets. When seated, you look over and there is a big sign warning you:

At the beach! Aaaaahhhhhhh........

Waiting for the hurricane Irene. Closing windows. Doing laundry because you know the electricity will go out. Oh, there won't be dangerous winds or flooding, or any obvious reason, but the power will go out and possibly be back for days. :)
