Damn.  The Franco Zeffirelli version of Romeo and Juliet is depressing.  Not that the play isn't majorly depressing to begin with.  But, really, it was FANTASTIC.  But sad.  Really sad.

I'm watching Franco Zeffirelli's version of The Taming to the Shrew, and his take on it is quite different than ours was.  It seems that Petruchio is kind of an idiot and a drunkard and Hortensio is all clever in getting him to consent to The Plan.  Also, Hortensio's kind of freaked out by Petruchio and Grumio; not the "nerdy guy wants to get in  ( Read more... )

Is it at all crazy or stalker-y that I really want to order the picture of Nate during the IV.1 monologue?

I just LOVED his costume.  And his character choice to sit there and eat the meat.  (Yes, I know, insert meat joke here.)  But that monologue was BRILLIANT on his part.

Not as good as the Macbeth ones (I wish he'd come to a rehearsal again), but still decent and order-worthy.

So today I went to Sam's house.

We watched MST3K shorts (including Body Care and Grooming), the H2G2 TV show (because I was ranting about its awesomely dismal special effects), and The Devil Wears Prada.  Meryl Streep is amazing.  She totally brought the whole movie up like ten notches.  We also ate lunch at Pizza Hut.
