I did a bit of scrapbooking this morning and then took Julia and Charlotte out to trick or treat this afternoon. Kim helped get Charlotte ready, then stayed home to hand out candy. It was such a beautiful day, probably the nicest weather we've ever had for Halloween - sunny, +9, no snow - perfect! There were lots of kids out and about and some of them started just after noon! By 7 o'clock we were out of candy, including the stuff I'd taken out of our girls' treats that I didn't want them to have!
As soon as I saw the m&m costumes in a catalogue, I ordered them. I had hoped that Charlotte could wear a yellow one, but it was way too big, and she was happy to be a kitty cat again this year anyway. Julia looked adorable and had many compliments on her costume.
Charlotte was just a little excited ;-)
I dumped the candy haul out on the table and weeded out what they were allowed to keep. Charlotte was only interested in a "ball", which was actually one of those horrible gumballs that look like an eyeball. I had to explain to her that it wasn't a ball, it was gum!
Julia was amazed at the pile of treats but didn't complain even once about me 'editing' the pile. She went back out on her own later and brought home even more o-O
And not to end a happy picture post on a downer, but I did this scrapbook page today. It's the last page in Abby's first scrapbook album, ending the chapter on her life and death. Her second album will be about how we've remembered her over the years - Christmas, her birthdays, etc. "This story's over, this chapter's closing." -
from Kids in the Way's song "Fiction". Jack has listened to this song so many times since Abby was born, and it was the perfect way to end her first album.
And now, to bed. School day tomorrow for me!
