* I arrived. My shuttle to St. George lost my reservation but I was able to get another one right away. More than 2 hours straight driving, but the a/c felt great and I was able to lean my head against the window and sleep a little.
* Dani and her partner picked me up, along with Dani's 20 month old son G. He is such a love, said hi to me right away, wanted me to hold his hand and pick him up, and he was even playing with some of the same toys Charlotte has. I don't know if this will make it easier or harder on me to be away from her.
* I have texted Kim and Jack throughout the day to see how they are doing, and to let them know I'd arrived at each destination. They feel so far away right now.
* My room is upstairs and there is A/C but it's humid from the rain today. I would kill for a breeze, and I may go in search of a fan tomorrow. Otherwise, my lodgings are very nice; a big room, my own bathroom, a sitting room upstairs with tv, and even an outdoor pool! Life is rough.
* I've laid out my clothes in case I get called to a birth tonight. I really doubt how functional I would be at a birth tonight so I'm hoping it doesn't happen, just for tonight.
* we had Red Lobster for supper tonight - grilled salmon, baked potato, broccoli and caesar salad - yum!
* hit Walmart as well and I got some groceries. I can't get over all the different food they have here, things I've never seen or heard of before! Probably 30% of what I saw tonight was new to me - hard to resist the temptation to pack up a box of goodies and send them home ;-)
* I'm in total sensory overload from all the newness around me. Must.sleep.
* Lucky for me, Dani has a double electric breast pump here that I am free to use. I was *FULL* by the time I got upstairs to my room and pumped for at least 20 minutes. I'll pump again in the morning and twice tomorrow evening and see how that does. I don't want to wean Charlotte yet so as long as I have enough milk to keep her interested until she builds up my supply again, I'll be happy.
* Dani offered to take me to do some sightseeing, including Zion National Park this Sunday afternoon. She is very nice and accomodating, for which I'm thankful. Oddly enough, her boyfriend reminds me a lot of D's ex-husband James. Transpose the letters in Dani's name = Dina...
Now to bed, but before I go I need to share this. Dani and I were talking about her boyfriend and how he has a little girl who will be two in August. Her name.....is Abby. She doesn't live here all the time but I will meet her on Thursday. Whenever I hear the name it pierces my heart just a little, but when 20 month old G called her "Amby", I nearly fell apart. I wonder how Charlotte will say Abby's name? I can't wait to hear Abby's name come from Charlotte's sweet lips.
