It's -46 with the wind chill this morning.  Julia was bundled up and sent to school, Jack headed to the city for an appointment, and Charlotte and I will hunker down and stay indoors today.   We'll keep busy with domestics, I'll try and get some studying and scrapbooking done, and maybe we'll snooze under a blanket together this afternoon.

Charlotte has almost mastered writing her own name.  It's been fun to watch her progress; learning to write the letters and remembering what order the letters need to be written.  She's so proud of herself, it just melts my heart.

Last night I was reading my book club and came to the part where they decide to discontinue the life support for their 3 year old daughter.  I was crying so much by the end of that chapter that I had to put my book down for a while to blow my nose and calm down.  It reminded me so much of when I rewrote the story of Abby's death, the way I wish it had gone if she'd had to die anyway.  It's a good book, but after this one, I really need to read something funny or uplifting.

abby, books, book club, charlotte's milestones, cold weather, grief
