We've just had a lovely family #happything - all curled up together watching Attenborough at 90. Bless the man, who truly is a national treasure and has done so much for conservation, and given million of us so much pleasure, over so many decades :-)

Making garlicky roast lamb for Sunday dinner, and then when the Small People were finally shoehorned into bed, curling up on the sofa with the Resident Geek to watch the first episode of the last half of the last series of Mad Men.

Curling up on the sofa with the Resident Geek and First Small Person to watch a couple of episodes - we are catching up having missed it at the time - of the delightful, gentle, wry, beautifully observed and incredibly English The Detectorists.

Today's #happything: shopping and chores all done, Small People back from Cubs and Scouts, and I'm on the sofa with nibbles, large glass of white wine, and Lucy Worsley's documentary on the Romanovs on TV :-)

I thought I was going to struggle to find a #happything today: it wasn't a particularly bad day, just a rather tough and meh one... until the terribly sad news of the death of Alan Rickman broke :(

But I have been greatly cheered by watching Episode 2 of Lucy Worsley's very entertaining and (to me) educational series about the Romanovs - about ( Read more... )

Today's #happything: curling up on the sofa after tea with the Small People to watch a great and very funny BBC documentary that was on over Christmas about the wonderful Nick Park and Aardman Animations (the makers of Wallace and Gromit) - A Grand Night In: the story of Aardman.  Have been reading/watching the accounts of former Czech president Vaclav Havel's funeral in Prague.

It takes me back to the heady days of 1989, which as a teenager who'd grown up with the Cold War, with Polish Solidarity stickers on school folders and bags, were so incredibly exciting...
