Ninth Circle of Hell update 1.
Got to work just before the rain started. By 12:30, when I went to move my car down off the hill, it had stopped raining - but there had been a freezing rain phase, as my car had started to look like a glazed donut.
Our department discussed what to do about tomorrow. The timesheet people had already fled like scared little girls, leaving behind a large pile of unchecked timesheets that we could have been working on. We also learned that they were not planning on coming in tomorrow, so there was no point in our doing so either. The fact that they didn't even try to finish up their work before leaving really pissed us off. We don't have billing due this week, and we can run payroll late if necessary (my boss's boss suggested she come in on Saturday to run payroll; she told him there was no way in hell she was doing that).
Mr Prune finally had to give up and send us home. He told us to call the main # in the morning; we might actually get the "sorry, but we're closed today due to inclement weather" message - HAHAHAHA! Car was completely iced over, but scraped off pretty quickly. Icy at my house; I threw down salt to try to break it up before the snow comes.
Have coordinated with friends that if one house loses power and the other does not that we will consolidate into one house to keep warm.
