Today was zero_gravity's last day at our work. I helped hire her nine years ago, and she was one of the best customer service people we ever had. Now, as Clockwork Zero, she makes steampunk jewelry, and with the notoriety she has gained from Wired, she could make a living at this. In Internet time this is probably old news by now. The Seattle Worldcon bid lost facilities and has withdrawn from the vote for the 2011 Worldcon.

Dinner with a bunch of folks. Mostly the Chicago bid, plus a bunch of others. Lisa, Matthew, Seamas, and Isobeal from Columbus, Grant and Theresa from Portland, Jill and Don from Boston, and I can't remember all the Chicago folks (Dave, Helen, Raymond, Ron, etc.). I just saw Bert (Roberta Carlson) a couple weeks ago at ConComCon. I have email from Bert about the web site. She was a sweet, giving person who was always helpful and never showed any ego that I ever saw. Vancouver has been chosen as the site of ConComCon 16, to be held in June 2009. Marah Searle-Kovacevic and I will be acting as co-chairs. The bid was approved by acclamation at the business meeting.
