I need a job. Anybody know of any short term contracts in the D.C. area that go from August through the end of September? Anybody have any leads in the Seattle area (long term and starting in October) for an IT guy with a secret clearance, no degree, and five years of tech experience that's two years old?

I will be a civilian in six to eight weeks.

Well, I saw my ortho doc today. The good news is, the PEB has begun. The bad news is, we have no idea whether I will be found fit or unfit for duty. At this point, if I am found unfit for duty, I'm not holding my breath for decent disability pay, so I'll definitely be looking for work. Today I found out I'm not deploying to Iraq with the unit. Basically it boils down to the fact that Recon doesn't rate to retain 0311's (riflemen) who aren't actively training to become 0321's (reconnaissancemen) and some folks with heavy collars got in a tizzy over it. The Bn FEx at Ft. Pickett was lame. For H&S it was exceptionally lame. There were at least twenty of us there that really didn't need to be there except to provide more bodies for the officers and staff to practice logistics or something.
