Please return my sleep-deprived brain?

Bear & J2's trip to KY went well. They had fun, aside from Delta screwing up the second leg of their flight so that they didn't leave Cincinnati until 4:50pm instead of by lunchtime. Panda came over today and helped with the last big bulky item off the truck. We put the stuff we were getting rid of outside and before I could finish making a "free" sign, we had a taker drive by. Turns out to be our new neighbor who also happens to have a new baby in the house, so I'm going to go through the baby clothes and take her the outgrown stuff. It's not like we'll need it ourselves and my sister's having a boy.

The kidlets had a good Xmas... lots of new goodies (especially books) and gadgets. J1, Lenae, and I had a great time while we were solo, even doing exchanges on the 26th in near deserted stores (that was some kind of wierd). I finally found Lenae a booster for the kitchen table that we can actually work the tray - same brand and *cheaper* than the one I had. But we had to trek to the new Babies R Us to find it - Walmart sucks. I priced a bath seat while there - they're nuts! $25! I think I'll see if Target has the inflatable ducks still - much more entertaining and cheaper to boot. She has seriously outgrown the baby tub, even sitting in it in the big tub.

J1 was a big help with Lenae when I had my doc appt on the 26th. Did my thyroid labwork and am waiting on the results. She said the cysts don't appear to be enlarging so unless I get some crazy bloodwork #s back, no thyroid ultrasound this round.

Measured J1 after noticing he appeared to be a bit taller. 5'1" now - only 2 inches to go and he catches up with me. I told him to quit growing and he just laughed.

Lenae is *still* sick with that nasty cold we all caught. Poor gal just can't seem to kick it. Add in that she cut her 4th tooth completely through the gum this week and she hasn't slept regularly. Hopefully the new bed we have will help out. She was sleeping in her bed and I actually managed to climb in bed and go to sleep without waking her last night (stupid old box springs were like an alarm clock for her). Bear plucked her out of her bed when he got home from work and tucked her in with us. Then she woke up at 5:30 and wanted to wake Daddy, so we moved to the couch to let him sleep.

I don't go back to work until Wednesday but hopefully I will catch up on sleep between now and then - and maybe get back to reading LJs and coherent comments. Until then - hope everyone had a great holiday and best wishes for 2008.

As for 2007 drawing to a close, I'm kind of glad it's over. I lost my Papaw and one of my dearest friends - both to cancer. Another friend battled and won against thyroid cancer and my father-in-law had a successful recovery from quadruple bypass surgery. We gained a beautiful baby girl to bless our family after I thought it would never happen for us.

I wouldn't trade Lenae for the world - but I'd love to replay the rest of the year and make sure I said better goodbyes to those who passed on. Here's to 2008 being better.
