The Time Traveller's Wife. Book was problematic but readable - even if all the really interesting stuff happened offscreen - at least Clare was somewhat defined, if not exactly a rounded or admirable character. Woo! News on the Eagle of the Ninth adaptation. Never heard of any of the stars - if that's them in the pictures, the Conventionally Cute Factor is very discouraging - but on the whole, good-oh.

It's no secret that for me, the one big silver lining in the whole proposed Tripods remake thing has been that this "bromance awareness" trend might mean the makers would be nodding to Will/Beanpole often and loud. Interview re the new Tripods films. That's right... plural. Still gratifyingly far off, but I don't see anything here to raise one's (admittedly very low) expectations).

Didn't expect to enjoy The Long Firm as much as I have, but it's great :) the world, which incidentally *is* my fuckin' oyster... Mega kudos to Mark Strong... he's *perfect*, and his turn in ep #4 is just magic. Makes Harry wonderfully memorable. And puffy grotty aged Phil Daniels as Jimmy was a complete hoot in #3, for all sorts of reasons ( Read more... )
