Might be too hot for bushwalking; we might stay here and do something about the two acres of two-foot-high grass rapidly browning off instead. Either way, started the Lego tonight.
Lovely few days with the in-laws - nice and relaxed, took time to see friends (Newest Niece has changed enormously even in the last two weeks!) and potter round the National Gallery - rather good
Anton Bruehl exhibition at the moment. Highly inspiring.
ETA: particularly his
Pictorial Review children's series - the pictures are at first glance awfully kitsch, but the more you look, the more they seem to radiate that same weird and creepy edge that Jan Svankmajer's films have (
Alzbetka in Otesanek, anyone...?). They'd all make great horror film posters - in many cases simply because you can see a real child behind the pretty pose. Love it!
Finally found a use for that blasted Facebook thing - it's a nice quick way to store photos, I'll give it that. I seem to have been lumbered with Official In-Law Event Recorder (the bunny who puts up stuff so someone's English Auntie I've never met but who friended me for this express purpose can see it). Which is useful. Still rubbish for actual communication though.
