I finished off the chemise, excepting the hem since that's for after I get the overdress finished, and everything looks good except for one small thing - I made the neckline too high.

In the process if figuring out a drawstring chemise, I have just discovered the joy of zig-zag edges. My god, why had no one told me about this wonder before?

Knowing that once I start I won't be able to stop, I've decided that I'm going to try and finish my whole ren dress before I start playing FF13. With any luck, this will not only get me to finish my ren dress in time for the faire, but quite conceivably even before the last evening. So hey, last year I took a bunch of pictures and then utterly failed to post most of them. But if Yoshiko can finally post the last of her pictures from Japan, I can certainly get around to posting multiple angles of my Professor Layton revoltech.

Now that it's October and Yoshiko has already beaten me to the punch by weeks, I've finally managed to finish the last of my AX pictures! Sadly, it turns out letting three and a half months go by in-between does not improve my recall. Still, you can see pictures of me in a hat. Enjoy?

The hardest part about putting together this cosplay, such as it is, out of other cosplay, is that I have no idea what footwear to wear with it. Sandals? Tennis shoes? Strappy sandals? The shoes that go with this outfit (my yellow dress from Orphen) are white, semi-high-heeled sandals that buckle, but I'm not sure that they're very piratey. My ( Read more... )

If you see this before they're sold out, Woot's got a Singer sewing machine/serger combo up today. I'm tempted myself, but I really only sew once a year. Then again, a serger sounds pretty nifty...
