Thursdayverse Fics Archived Here All the Cobras were some kind of addict at some point in their lives, and Gabe's method involves transferring their addictions over to him. Gabe treats his Cobras in turn as an army, a congregation and a harem.
Gabe Saporta
Gabe Saporta has a fairly serious god complex and deadly serious ambitions as a messiah figure for a whole lot of confused, messed up people. His goal in life is to set up his own religion legitimately and perfectly tax free (his second goal is to end Andy Hurley). At first he collected people accidentally, by the force of his ideas and his personality, then he had a hallucinatory revelation, talked to a Cobra and started to find people on purpose. He's instinctively very good at telling people what they want to hear; he is charming. He's not averse to stalking people for a long, long time in order to get to know them before he meets them, and he's overly fond of hallucinatory drugs. He's also worryingly happy with torturing people to get his way.
Once Gabe considers someone his, they are his forever. This is why Andy Hurley has to die.
'Nasty' Nate Navarro
Nate is a compulsive liar and a thief. Sometime's he's not even actively aware he's lying. Nate came from absolute shit, became an addict very early, stealing his mother's drugs. He was in recovery while he was still a teenager. The only way he ever got attention was doing some truly bad shit, which is a lot of the reason he lies like he breathes and steals like he's got the devil's hands. He carries a bike chain, at Gabe's suggestion. He's not a close range fighter and he's small, so he likes the extra reach it gives him, doesn't like letting people get close enough to get hands on him. Nate's the heart of the Cobras, and certainly the sanest.
He revels in the Cobra's atmosphere and is nearly constantly upbeat and smiling. It's the best family he's ever had.
Ryland Blackinton
Ryland is the sponge to Alex's fountain of caustic sarcasm. They compliment each other to an unhealthily co-dependant degree. Not entirely averse to hurting people, Ryland's formerly an actor who does a mean English accent and various impressions. Gabe uses him as the con-man of the group-- he's had some experience with this before, made his living from it. He feeds off (and gets off on) tough love, as long as it's physical abuse, but verbal.
Ryland and Alex work as a team, Ryland bullshits them into places and Alex does the hurting. Ryland’s most attached to Alex. (After Gabe. Everyone is most attached to Gabe.)
Victoria 'Vicky-T' Asher
Vicky-T is the big stick Gabe uses to beat people into submission when subtlety isn't useful anymore. Vicky-T was well looked after but never loved and went severely off the rails via your classic teenage sex and drugscapades and her parents stopped talking to her (she would say they were happy to finally have an excuse to). She ended up bugfuck insane, living in an alley and beating the shit out of people for cash at what most people would consider her lowest point. She considers her lowest point being stuck in the psych ward for a length of time she's still not sure about. She's ridiculously attached to her weapon, a plain old baseball bat Gabe gifted to her. She's also ridiculously attached to Nate, who was the first non-Gabe Cobra to accept her. She calls him her little brother. Highly aware of her own sexuality and appearance, Vicky-T isn't averse to using it to get what she wants; she makes absolutely zero attempts to be "one of the boys" and can, in fact, be easily bribed with dresses, oral sex and other shiny things.
Alex Suarez
He isn't attached to any particular weapon-- unless you count sarcasm and elaborate name calling as weapons. However, he was once a chef-- he knows how to handle a myriad of different knives with a fair whack of skill, a skill that's been honed a lot since he met Gabe. As a hangover from this former life he knows a lot of French (complementing his Spanish), emphasis on everything related to swearing and cuisine; coming from working in the military type atmosphere of a French restaurant kitchen, he now treats Gabe a lot like his sergeant, or his head chef.
Suarez had a high paying job at a very high class restaurant, and cocaine habit, which fed directly into his worse habit of beating the shit out of anyone who looked at him funny-- including his girlfriends. He still gets nosebleeds frequently. He's a bitch about everything and takes no one seriously but Gabe and occasionally Ryland, when he absolutely must.
