"... so we might as well dance".
Aka, the most important purpose of this post is for me and
franztastisch to flail about certain dancing AU. (Everyone is welcome!) I am working on a long, angsty, serious, full-of-feels fic and I could use some laughs and fun and plotting and ideas and whatever.
Also, the interesting discussion over at
be_compromised prompted me to reread

Yeeeees, I seriously need to go into that one once I'm done with Nat's baby 'verse. Oh Clint and all of his emotional issues and working through them. It's quite hard to write but I like what I'm doing with it. :))))
Any things I should definitely put into dancing AU? :D

Other than that, I don't know, whatever. Ridiculous theme nights? A subtle critique of reality television? A subtle critique of people who critique reality television?

But yes, costumes, banter, dancing, ridiculous theme nights and bonus dancing numbers and ALL THE FUN THINGS YES YES YESSSSSSS.

OK to start off, I had a million ideas about this as soon as you said you had the idea about writing a SCD AU. And basically, as dancing is what I see AU Clint and Natasha doing (rather than fighting.. or sometimes as well as) I FELL IN LOVE.
And this could very easily turn into a MASSIVE COMMENT. So apologies in advance.
OK so my whole idea for this was based off this piece of music which I love. Basically, you know that dance the last 2 or 3 couples have to do? The Freestyle, where you can do whatever you want? I saw Clint and Natasha dancing to this. And then, when the beat drops (heh) they seamlessly switch into... well, attempting to beat the crap out of each other. And then when the music gets quieter, they go back to dancing. And basically they blow everyone's minds and win. (I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS IDEA and no matter what happens to this AU of yours, I will be forever grateful that you triggered this brainwave ( ... )

And yeah, I thought using other Marvel characters for the other parts would be cool. OH MY GOD JOHNNY STORM CAN BE A DOUCHBAG CONTESTANT. That would be AWESOME. Hahaha.

Clint's the professional; he's ex-circus, but kept the dancing. For all in personality he's fairly steady, he's been a performer since he was a kid, and he enjoys it. Bobbi-the-ex was trying to work out if she wanted to be a professional dancer or a scientist - she didn't get into a comp, so she decided scientist (she coaches dancing on the side, though), and they drifted apart for other reasons. Not sure what Clint's day-job is! Presuming he has one. He's getting older for the professional circuit, but he couches/is moving into couching.
So, then, Natasha. Natalia Romanova, Russian and professor of philology who moved over to the US and is a celebrity academic (due to....reasons <.< ). She's more dramatic in presentation in public (she's a teacher, a lecturer, and she's the kind who gestures with her hands and loves her students and pushes them to think), but it's a lot of...an actor's deliberate dramatic. She's a ( ... )

Can Logan be a wrestler?
Does Coulson double as Clint's manager/ advocate in this process?
because Anthony Mackie
What other reason do you need?

I like Logan as a footballer (American football that is, not that I know any more about American football than I know of European football). There's something... right about that to me. *shrugs*
I'm not sure what Coulson is really. I remember I made him Clint's coach, but that implied that Coulson knows archery, which in my head he really really doesn't. Maybe manager is better.
Anthony Mackie is the best reason. :D

I feel sorry for Sue being paired with Hammer. I can see how that couple would go early.
