Aka, the most important purpose of this post is for me and franztastisch to flail about certain dancing AU. (Everyone is welcome!) I am working on a long, angsty, serious, full-of-feels fic and I could use some laughs and fun and plotting and ideas and whatever.

HELLO HELLO HELLO. Sorry, was eating. I sort of knew this would happen. :P

OK to start off, I had a million ideas about this as soon as you said you had the idea about writing a SCD AU. And basically, as dancing is what I see AU Clint and Natasha doing (rather than fighting.. or sometimes as well as) I FELL IN LOVE.

And this could very easily turn into a MASSIVE COMMENT. So apologies in advance.

OK so my whole idea for this was based off this piece of music which I love. Basically, you know that dance the last 2 or 3 couples have to do? The Freestyle, where you can do whatever you want? I saw Clint and Natasha dancing to this. And then, when the beat drops (heh) they seamlessly switch into... well, attempting to beat the crap out of each other. And then when the music gets quieter, they go back to dancing. And basically they blow everyone's minds and win. (I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS IDEA and no matter what happens to this AU of yours, I will be forever grateful that you triggered this brainwave

Other people: SCD in this case is presented by Tony Stark, a well-known and well-loved TV presenter, who spends his time flirting shamelessly with Pepper Potts, the floor manager/producer. Darcy is the loveable make-up artist. Everyone loves her and she can gossip with the best of them. Two of the judges are Loki (who is the fabulously camp one obvs) and Jean Grey (idk why this one but I like it). Other than Steve and Natasha I have Storm (Ororo Monroe) as a professional dancer, and other contestants include Logan (Wolverine - some form of professional sports person), Gwen Stacey (actress?) and Peter Parker (gymnast?). I'm sure I had more thought up, but now I can't remember them.

So yeah! It's... a lot, right? :P

THIS MEANS I HAVE TO REWATCH X MEN? I originally planned to include as much Avengers characters as I can, and then add OCs for other contestants. I shall think about this! :) Loki as a judge, I like that. He can constantly criticize Clint.

And Loki's reaction to the Freestyle is "...I literally cannot think of one bad thing to say". :P

And yeah, I thought using other Marvel characters for the other parts would be cool. OH MY GOD JOHNNY STORM CAN BE A DOUCHBAG CONTESTANT. That would be AWESOME. Hahaha.

My idea for their freestyle was this; because I see Clint being awesome in all flamenco - style dances, and this is a mixture of flamenco and a waltz (the song is actually a waltz). But Loki can be speechless about the modern dance as well, and since it involves martial arts, Clint can contribute a lot to it, and in my head it looks like... fighting gone dancing, like a fusion of the two, only without inflicting harm. ?

Johnny Storm? Oh wait I think I know who he is! I seriously need a rewatch. !!

Fighting gone dancing is exacly it. Just... it starts out sort of... I don't know. Because I don't know the names of dances. I but I see it sort of... waltz/foxtrot-ish, but with lifts and that sort of random... modern dance elements. And then in that little pause before the beat drops they sort of still, and then one basically just throws a punch and it all becomes a choreographed fights sequence. And then when the... smoother violin comes back in Natasha spins into hold and they start dancing again.

Though I really like the idea of Natasha catching Clint in the mouth with her arm by accident and they just keep going, so they finish, and they're grinning like mad because they pulled it off and Clint just has blood all over his chin. (REASONS. I NEED THIS BECAUSE OF REASONS).

Also, for this, I see Natasha wearing a really cool black and slightly lacy leotard one-piece thing, for ease of movement. And flat shoes. I'm not sure what Clint would wear.

It makes sense! I need to listen to the song a couple of times and memorize it - it helps with visualizing things! Foxtrot (actually slow fox) - yeeees, because it's slow and easy and graceful; it looks effortless but of course it's not. And then lots of fluid modern dance movements and then fighting which, ouch, can get out of hand.

Clint - black sleeveless shirt and black pants. Or shirtless. As it would bring them points. ;)

I have never liked the sleeveless tops male dancers wear. Never. But really, it makes the most sense here. (Really I wanted him to be able to wear a really old soft tshirt and tatty tracky bottoms, but that was never going to happen :P)

I think he needs something simple, comfortable (as not to prevent movement) and something that shows off both his body and the way he moves.

Also, I see them barefoot.

Also? Have you seen this video ? There's fighting/dancing. Yes, I'ma ware that's an actual martial skill there but this is what I thought of first! <3!

Yeah, same. And I love the idea of bare feet actually.

Oh no, that's a form of Brazilian dance. I've seen that before. But I was thinking of something with a little more actual contact. Sort of like an actual choreographed fight. Sort of like this, apart from with two people carrying the whole thing.

....... aaand I fail! *facepalms* What did I mix up uhhhh. I think it's time for me to go to bed - but yes - bit more contact, which is carefully choreographed, involves contact, flipping.... I really need to get the song and put it on repeat.
