Aka, the most important purpose of this post is for me and franztastisch to flail about certain dancing AU. (Everyone is welcome!) I am working on a long, angsty, serious, full-of-feels fic and I could use some laughs and fun and plotting and ideas and whatever.

So, my Dancing!AU...

...would involve me being contrary, as this is what I do. Also is incredibly sketchy as I'm thinking it up as I type.

Clint's the professional; he's ex-circus, but kept the dancing. For all in personality he's fairly steady, he's been a performer since he was a kid, and he enjoys it. Bobbi-the-ex was trying to work out if she wanted to be a professional dancer or a scientist - she didn't get into a comp, so she decided scientist (she coaches dancing on the side, though), and they drifted apart for other reasons. Not sure what Clint's day-job is! Presuming he has one. He's getting older for the professional circuit, but he couches/is moving into couching.

So, then, Natasha. Natalia Romanova, Russian and professor of philology who moved over to the US and is a celebrity academic (due to....reasons <.< ). She's more dramatic in presentation in public (she's a teacher, a lecturer, and she's the kind who gestures with her hands and loves her students and pushes them to think), but it's a lot of...an actor's deliberate dramatic. I'm pretty sure I'm not actually going to write it, really. SO MANY THINGS TO WRITE, AHHHHH. But I can have fun thinking it up ;-)

I have so many AUs in my head for MCU that it's ridic. It's just that they're so easy to do...

Okay, well, there is the canon!AU I'm currently writing where Clint used to be Natasha's Russian/Soviet husband, Alexei Shostakov (serums and mind-alternation and amnesia and things happened. And then they find each other later, and canon-movies roll on as normal, yay) which I'm REALLY FOND OF and gah, I need to finish. My Alternate Universe Setting favourite is one I haven't finished anything for, but all the characters are living in Venica circa 1490. That is the AU of my heart, and id!fic, and happy place, and LA, LA, LAAA.

Just it's..it IS ridiculously easy to do, because the characters aren't - at the core of out - about their gadgets or backstories, but about THEM and being a team, and working things out, and their backgrounds translate pretty well into other things. And it's just....FUN, you know? Translating things and tossing things about.

We need an intervention. Yeah, I have a fairytale AU, a Harry Potter AU and a Crime Family AU all in my head. I will probably not write the Crime Family one, 'cause it's dark, and I use fanfiction for happy fun times. But the fairytale AU (Fury as a fairy godmother!) and the Harry Potter AU are both clamoring to be written.

And not counting my fusion with daemons, which seriously, AU of my life. I LOVE DAEMON AUS. And then there is the one which-is-going-to-be-AU-when-CA2-comes-out, where Natasha is the daughter of a Russian Jewish immigrant family (The Kids from Brooklyn verse) which I created because I got seriously annoyed at all of the NAT MUST BE RED ROOM-ness that people insisted on.

And Inception!AU ideas, and steampunked, and started a space marines one (but too depressing, possibly(, and...

I started space marine au! And then I realized that Clint and Nat wouldn't end up together, because of chain-of-command, and I was still in b_c then, so I went 'BUT NO ONE WILL READ IT'. But maybe I can alter it a bit so C/N was a one-night stand, and then Nat ends up rescuing Bucky. Or...IDK. ENDS UP WITH NO ONE. I liked what I HAD, but yeah.

(I LIKE my alternate-backstory-for-Nat thing. She has parents! Siblings! a daughter! And still Nat. I need to finish more fics in that 'verse before I get Jossed entirely in a year.)

I'm just trying to think of ANY prompts (seriously, fandom, write me my Natasha/Maya), and....failing. Miserably. Gaaaaaaaaaaaaah.
