in need of heat

I'm pretty sure that the City of Portland's policy for dealing with snow, whether it's one inch or one foot, is the "we'll just not look at it and eventually it will go away" method.

I woke up today at 9am with cramps that hurt just enough to make me unable to do anything else but lie in bed and wait for them to go away. I drifted off to sleep at some point (cramps always make me soooo tired) and then woke up at 1. or was it 2?

Needless to say, I haven't gotten much done today. I ate the rest of that tortellini that gave me a tummy ache yesterday. Not the best idea, but it was the fastest option and my apartment is COLD. It was down to 57 when I got up. I turned on my space heater and cranked up the main heater to 66. I even turned on the oven and left it open while I was in the kitchen.

I had to brave the basement (icy) to get my last load of laundry out of the dryer.

Now in my room it's warming up more, but I'm still feeling a little frozen.

I just saw an SUV cross Everett. They did a good job of clearing off most of the snow from the whole car, except for one area. There was an entire foot and a half of snow perched on top, covering the whole roof of the car. I hope they don't drive very fast, not that they really can with the roads in this condition.

When my toes feel warm again, I think I'll make some more hot cocoa.
