Checked earlier this week on the status of my computer which I'd dropped off for repairs before leaving for Seattle at the end of September. Had received one email that the part had been ordered. Earlier today, I found the iPod cable plug adapter charger whatsit. Just in time for the travelling! I hope it actually works to charge the thing, now.

Intermittently my computer won't boot properly; I've even gotten an exciting blinky-question-mark-folder instead of the nice Apple logo. Then last night my harddrive was spinning up and down for no reason, which was really slowing down my groupchat with some classmates.. It's a good thing I stuck this accordion-style fan in the Ch'an-bag the other week. I'm burning up in here (thirsty and sitting next to 62º of chugging processor) waiting in the Koerner Library until TV time tonight. I finally figured out why Safari kept disabling my "enable plug-ins" preference, and how to fix it. Turns out Saft added a checked-off preference to the Safari menu and doesn't correctly remember the ordinary preference's state.

Textpander With which one can insert standard text snippets (and even rearrange the cursor afterward) without typing much.
I've no idea why it's taken me this long to try out Textpander. It's great. Servicescrubber With which one can clean up the Services menu, disable services, or change keyboard shortcuts.
