Moving Update (based on an email I sent to a friend)

Yeah, I'm gone now. I'm outside of Portland and Gragathaz is in Halifax. The packing and moving went as well as could be expected. (; It's going to be more expensive than the estimate, but we'd expected that really. Also it'll take a while for things to show up at the new place, so it's good that we sent an air mattress and blanket with Gragathaz.

My mom and I stopped at a Daiso outside of Seattle, on our way south, which was pretty fun, as you can imagine! I had sent our travel-toiletry-kit with Gragathaz, so I got a new one and a bar of soap and a soap dish and a nail clippers with a purple "reservoir" on the back. (Besides the new apron and plastic A4 papers holder and tiny flower-shaped skillet and biscuit cutters...) Unfortunately, my mom had already made me buy a new toothbrush from Shoppers Drug Mart, so I didn't get any crazy foreign toothpaste! Also because this Daiso is a bit smaller, they didn't have exactly the right small bottles to fill with shampoo, but oh well. It was pretty cool that all the employees were speaking Japanese, including the white high-school student.

The really frustrating thing that happened is that my computer's power cord went kaput in the time it took me to leave the room and grab my ipod for charging. So, Monday night in my vacant apartment, my mom and I weren't able to watch a DVD like we'd planned to. I am going to try to visit an Apple store today and try another one.
