I demand Veelas, damnit!!
Welp, after going with Jenneke to see Golconda fort this morning (we spent the first 15 minutes going teh wriong way and getting semi-lost, the next 45 minutes getting lots of much needed excercise) we went to see Goblet of Fire this afternoon. Not much to say, I've mostly given up on the books and haven't had much hope for the movies from the start but even then... The damn thing felt like it was less than an hour long rather than 2 h 15 min. Very disappointing. To sum it up in a list...
Things That Were Lacking:
- general plot-filling (i.e.: you had to have read teh book, and recently at that, to really get what was going on).
- not enough time spent at the Burrow.
- they skipped the quidditch match entierly.
- There Were No Veelas Damnit!!
- see first point again.
- since when does Cho have an Irish accent?!
- first point again. Along with mysterious disappearance of a great number of minor incidents. Like the Sphinx in the maze. I actually liked the Sphinx.
- not enough of Draco Dearest being a snarky git. *blonde-deprived*
- in my personal opinion Ron, Fred and George could all have done with an inch and a half less hair...
- see points number 1,5 & 7.
However, there were some fairly nice things to note as well...
Saving Graces:
- Cedric!!! *glomps* And of course the rather large amounts of hintiness pertaining to him and Harry... *cough* *discreetly rumages through Arashi's journal*
- Ron XD Yeah, yeah, shaddup. Truth is I practically ate his little spat with Harry.
- omg, they're like... sexy now! XD Yeah, again, shaddup. People are actually starting to look pretty good in these movies.
- Cedric again. Just because.
- Draco Dearest going all cute and fuzzy on us. :] Yeah, I'm evil, ain't I?
So yes, not much of a movie IMO. Apologies to those who thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread.
Also, about halfway through 'Queen of the Damned'. *laughs* Lestat is such an unbelievable brat sometimes. XD Marius' words, not mine. And yes, I'm highly obsessive over the book right now.
