Jack lay back on his bed, staring at the ceiling. The window was open, and an errant breeze was fluttering the curtains, which in turn were casting shadows across the room.

If he squinted just right, the ones above him looked a bit like rabbits in compromising positions. If you used your imagination.

After a day spent forcing himself not to think about emails and whether they'd been sent on time, Jack finally gave in and went to check. There was nothing in the inbox from anyone he recognised, so he started checking the spam.

Jack pulled on a pair of jeans and made his way down to the computer labs to respond to the email. He'd gone to bed determined to ignore it, but bad dreams had disturbed his sleep, their shadows lingering long after he woke.

"That was a total waste of time." Jack was talking to a glass of tequila. Well, not the glass, but the worm floating rather pathetically in the last remnants of the now empty bottle.
