[Kadaj is standing alone on a public balcony, staring down at the cityscape. Too lost in his own thoughts, he doesn't notice his surroundings.]More and more often, I am encouraged to do what I want. Not follow so blindly. But what? What can I want? Humans are selfish creatures, it's easy for them to think there are other things of equal, even ( Read more... )

Looks like someone's finally getting a clue.

Something you must not see very often among others.

Of course not. Humans don't realize how infectious their thoughts and feelings are, nor do they think that perhaps there's something better. What's essential is that you don't give in.

I'm aware. Even if they are not... I'll need to get stronger though. Maybe if I'm always fighting them they'll be too busy to spit any of that out.

That sounds like a familiar dilemma. If it helps, I don't think there are too many times where people are really content. It's probably more that we're resigned, and that's probably worse. I'd say I almost envy you if you're not letting yourself sink into that kind of state.

How is it familiar? At least that makes more sense if you're resigned. That would lower your expectations about some things...and you'd probably accept whatever fate Mother hands to you more easily. You probably should, since I refuse to ever do the same. I can't.

Resignation leads to complacency. "We can't change it anyway," "it's what's supposed to happen." That's ridiculous. Everyone who lets something happen just because it's 'supposed to be that way' is just running from making their own decisions.

Do what makes you happy in the here and now.

But it's true, isn't it? In the end, you all...

Though...I guess beating the ones who decide to fight makes it more worthwhile. But what about the future?

Geez. Stop whining already.

It's not whining.

Yeah, yeah ...

Anyway, what's with the deep thinking from you?

Reevaluating my beliefs. I figured if I went along with it, it would be easier to ignore the protests in the future.

For a bunch of free-thinking morons, it's kind of ironic that humans usually get what they want. Have you gotten what you wanted yet?

Reply

anangelspawn April 9 2008, 17:49:31 UTC
No, I haven't. But I want someone and something much greater than any of them could ever desire.

firebranded April 9 2008, 18:02:31 UTC
Which means...what? That'll you'll never get it? Sucks to be you.

Don't say that! I will get it... And if not, at least my efforts won't be in vain.
