Today is/was STAR TREK's 44th birthday! 44 years ago the first regular episode aired on NBC, "The Man Trap". And the rest is history.. ♥

Today is John Rhys-Davies' 64th birthday.
He's one of my favourite actors for many years, since I saw him as Sallah in Indiana Jones. I loved him as Prof. Arturo in Sliders and of course as Gimli. (And we put a big cloak of silence over all the crappy movies he has made .. though it doesn't make any difference to me, I'm watching them nonetheless ( Read more... )

Today, 116 years ago, JRR Tolkien was born.
Without him one of the most beloved books of the world wouldn't exist, one of the best movies ever would have never been made, many wonderful pictures would have never been painted, many stories would have never been written and many amongst us would have never met.
