The house smells so yummy. I'm baking a loaf of European Peasant Bread (using whole wheat,rye and white flowers) to which I've added sunflower seeds, crushed walnuts and aromatic salt (sea salt with oregeano and thyme). John is successfully grilling the veggies and meat and dinner should be delicious. I plan to turn in early though in the hopes ( Read more... )

I've been slowly reading both The Omnivore's Dilemma and In Defense of Food, by Michael Pollan. In the latter book he sums up pretty much everything one needs to do in terms of good nutrition as : Eat food. Not too much. Mostly Plants.

I just finished another great essay in The Best American Non-Required Reading 2007.  This one was written by Lee Klein and is titled, All Aboard the Bloated Boat: Arguments in Favor of Barry Bonds.  It was originally published in Barrelhouse.  It's pretty much what it sounds like, an article that suggests juicing isn't all bad.
