1. My daughter is sick (although she insisted on going to school because she had 2 tests and some other things she didn't want to miss or make up) with a fever and sore throat and my son has a sore throat and cold so it's popsicle time. Spent the day in Boston with the family, we went to both the MFA and Isabella Stewart Gardner Museums. I took a bunch of pics but really liked this one:

The past week end on the Cape was lovely, although having two young teen girls is a bit much at times. The sheer volume of squees and giggles was way beyond my quota.

Oh and John broke his hand last week. However, being all man like or something he ignored it until it was impossible and today I got to stand by while he had it "reduced" and casted ( Read more... )

but we had a great day. Drove out to MassMOCA with a stop in Shelburne Falls for lunch ( and a lovely stroll on the Bridge of Flowers!). After a heavy rainfall, we hit the top of the hill/mounains before heading down into North Adams and it was stunning!

I am knitting a mystery shawl (you get a clue every week) and it's lace and involves what will eventually be 3000+ seed beads and it's difficult but fun and it's making me a bitch to my family.  It seems silly to have a hobby that alienates my family.  My intention is to work on the crazy-making stuff when I'm alone or they're asleep or something ( Read more... )
