So, Em and I are alone together when we drive home from shul on Tuesday nights. We listen to pop music and sing along. Tonight's song? lLove Story. The fact that the video showcases one of the few forms of dancing I can handle with some grace is fun. I think I've posted here before about how it's becoming clear to me as I listen to the music she likes how we women get socialized to the whole romance thing-in this case it has a regency flair (yay!) but still..I should probably be more concerned than I am. Link to video after (some, I'm sparing my flist all) lyrics.
And I said,
"Romeo, take me somewhere we can be alone.
I'll be waiting; all there's left to do is run.
You'll be the prince and I'll be the princess
It's a love story - baby just say 'Yes.'
Romeo save me - they're tryin' to tell me how to feel;
This love is difficult, but it's so real.
Don't be afraid; we'll make it out of this mess.
It's a love story - baby just say "Yes.'"
