oh, I could listen to that theme song by The Insects over and over again. It gets me in the same way that the Doctor Who theme does - it must be something to do with the unashamed artificialness of it all, the screeching synths just tear at something visceral in me. I just found a box of old tapes - mostly things that people have made for me in (vain) attempts to wean me off metal (I do like Radiohead/Elliott Smith and Beck, but not as much as My Dying Bride/Lacrimosa and Sabbath) - but the real prize was finding an old Three Hours of Power tape with the following gem on it.

Ahh, I'm trying to write down said fabulously fabulous idea, and I can't because I have Opeth stuck in my head - I keep breaking out into grins and random humming. Opeth is, truly, a majestic band - a glorious, terrifying, spectacular, awe-inspiring, inspirational, passionate, unbridled, wild and beautiful band!
