Or at least it seems that way. Too tired for painting right now, don't want to mess anything up. I'm satisfied with the composition and background, but have the difficult foreground to put in next, and the effect of windblown snow to achieve, I hope.

Today was the Audubon Society Christmas Bird Count in our county. I joined two others in canvassing an assigned territory to count as many species and individuals as possible between dawn and dusk. We drove about sixty miles, walked another three in fairly heavy snow though not as cold as last year. A rough summation indicates that we spotted 25 ( Read more... )

Not that the weekend looks any easier. Audubon bird count is tomorrow, so that's pretty much the day starting earlier than work would be.

Did get to go to Donley's tonight though and claim that free steak dinner. It was excellent.

I think we're going to watch the silent version of Phantom of the Opera and then bed.

Apparently a lot of it just north of the state line at the moment, but just an occasional flake here. At midday today, though, it was coming down hard. I had to sweep off my windshield when I left work at 12:30 ( Read more... )
