It's surprisingly easy to forget that MIT is much more a research place than a teaching place. I tend to get all caught up in all the classes I have to take with "Intro" in the title. I love the "indicate interest in Activity X and receive free stuff" fairs at a tech school. Mini flashlights, carabiners, teeny little spirit levels, little Sharpies, fabulously compact little screwdriver sets... in addition to your standard free stuff, like pens and junk food.

I used to never be able to whistle. I could do the "owl" thing with my hands, but not with enough control to play songs.

Through practice, I've become able to whistle, sort of. Range is still limited, and tone sometimes goes in and out. But I can whistle.

(I still can't wolf-whistle, which annoys me.)
