We got the replacement dog from Drake's breeder yesterday, the one who's supposed to take Darcy's place until Dallas has her litter.  This poor dog is so terrified of anything that moves on two legs, it's heartbreaking.  He's a big, goofy two-year old, and he's Drake's great-great-grand-nephew.  He moves exactly like Drake, he's just as big, and ( Read more... )

Drake had a vet appointment today.  I asked if I should be going along and my mother pretty much bulldozed and said 'no', because according to Bob 'nothing would be happening'.

Except, y'know.

They put him down.

The last time I was home I got to spend some quality time with Drake at my own insistence.  Took him for a good walk around Smoke Rise (even then he was coughing - badly - but I thought it was due to exhaustion from a dog show he was at earlier in the day) and then just joined him on the floor for a lie-down and a cuddle, since he was too tired to ( Read more... )

A beagle won the Westminster show this year.

Unprecedented.

Uno is also quite the handsome little dog.

As a dog show person I am jealous. :(
