Reminder to Self: Before going to bed, close DOWN Skype on the desktop and COMPLETELY "power off" the new cellphone.

This morning, I got awakened by a spam call coming through on Skype, then no more than 10 minutes later, that damn cellphone started ringing with one.

I had to select "Other" and I specified in the comments. Never used any of those. I usually just have Facebook Messenger and Skype running. Installed Zoom back in May, after I first heard of it, but have yet to actually USE it...

If it's not bad enough I've got trolls/spammers "liking" posts and sending me Friend requests on Facebook, now I'm apparently getting them on Skype. Started the program, there were three "missed calls" from people with lots of numbers in their user names asking to be added to Skype.

Blocked them just like I've been blocking the ones on Facebook.

Geesh! I was just sitting here watching a live podcast, and a call notification on Skype popped up suddenly. Jumped about a foot out of my chair from the sound. Closed it, since I didn't recognize the name on it. Prolly spammers.

I've been an updating fool so far this week. Yesterday Skype and Trillian, Today, the monthly Windows patch.

Methinks Microsoft is delusional. Got this email today. Only place I've EVER used Skype is the desktop PC...

Not that I use Skype a lot (only one person on my list), but it seems buggier with each new update. The last few updates it freezes upon starting the program, and I have to force kill the process and restart/repeat at least three times before it will run properly.

Sometimes I wonder what Microsoft/Skype considers "This won't take long". Took about 5 minutes!

Finding less and less use for the Trillian all-in-one instant messenger. Whenever I get messages from people, it's usually over Facebook. Can't remember the last time someone sent a message over AIM, ICQ, or Yahoo. As a result, I have Facebook loaded in Skype now, not bothering to run Trillian .

I have Facebook chat integrated with the Windows Skype desktop client. Most Facebook contacts that show as being "Online" on the actual Facebook website show up as online in the Skype client. However, there are a few people who don't show as online in the client, but are showing online on the website.

Makes me wonder if I'M showing as "Online" to ( Read more... )
