The ol' house is rather quiet at the moment. I guess mom was feeling a bit "cooped up", so she's gone to visit Uncle Barrett for a while this afternoon. The son went somewhere a couple hours ago (he NEVER says WHERE he's going), so I'm currently here by myself.

Decent enough day in quite some time that I can open a few windows in the house!

After mom got all moved in, her cat Booger was spending most of his time in her bedroom. He has since been venturing around the house more and more. However, he and Eastwood still hiss and growl each time they encounter each other. Mom keeps Booger in her room at night, just in case the cats were to start brawling after everyone goes to sleep.

Last night, mom had another bout with her diverticulitis, and went to the emergency room. They are keeping her overnight to get her started on some powerful antibiotics, and letting her come home tomorrow. Looks like the house painters are finally putting the finishing touches on the paint, after beginning the job Thursday. Took so long, because they had to pressure wash and scrape a lot of old, peeling paint from parts. The house hasn't had a "proper" outside paint job in around 25 years, so it was in pretty bad shape. Just killed another wasp here in the computer room. Wish I could find where the damn things are getting in!

Got two estimates for getting that line of catalpa trees my dad planted in the early 1970's in the back yard removed. He originally planted them to sell the worms that are attracted to the trees to fishermen driving down the road to the lake. Today, however, they are just a nuisance... something extra to mow around! I've been having a leak in the roof problem with the kitchen ceiling for nearly 5 years now, always around the SAME area of the kitchen. Had roofer after roofer out here, they've done various things, yet the leaks persist.
