*Whispers* Hello!

Just a quick post to say, I'm not dead, I'm working. On my dissertation and the five or six other projects I have to put together. And haven't started yet. So for the past fortnight my mother has been rocking it Auckland style, and guess what? New Zealand loves her. Well, New Zealand's bishops love her. lil_fangirl  and I are not surprised, because everyone loves our mum and deservedly so.

But the cool thing is - we're moving to NZ in September!

Am alive, but it feels only just. Have been an holiday and had flu, one of which was awesome, I'll leave it to you to guess which :P

Tonight I went to a radio play at the BBC radio place off'f Oxford Street, which was HILARIOUS. It's called Child's Play and our episode (I think the first episode, but perhaps not) airs on the 29th September at 11pm. ( Read more... )

The treasure hunt went pretty well actually :) Kids happy to make their own up, although trying to convince a six-year-old to describe hiding places is hard. We also made treasure cake (cake with chocolate coins hidden in a secret compartment, AWESOME), jewel bicuits, played ping-pong, put on a circus, watched Half Moon Investigations (!!!), wrote ( Read more... )

I've recently had a few governing obsessions: mainly audio books, old television shows, sketchbunnies and making cookies. Only one of these is extremely damaging to my diet plans, but it is the other three from which creativity has flown!

The school thing turned out brilliant - lovely kids who were very enthusiastic about the books they liked and what stories made them excited. Apparently animals and girls don't have as much adventure as boys, so they make boring protagonists (this from two girls) and reading children's versions of classics is a source of great pride. So last week, as a birthday present for me, my grandmother and sister came round to help clean out my garden and plant plants, which was awesome.
